In our comfortable New Work area on the 1st floor, you will not only find an impressive view of the fjord, but also comfortable armchairs and sofas that not only offer comfort, but also power connections and work surfaces. Modern telephone booths are also available on the 1st floor for undisturbed telephone calls or video conferences. These noise-reducing rooms ensure that important calls or video conferences can be held without distractions. There are also soundproofed seating areas with tables that can accommodate 4 to 6 people and are ideal for group work or intensive discussions. Of course, you can also have a pleasantly quiet time on your own, while other areas are used for lively discussions.

Reading room and stand-alone workstations

Individual workstation at ZBW Kiel

In Kiel, individual workstations are available in the open areas on the first and second floors. You will also find our air-conditioned reading room on the second floor, where you can work in peace and quiet. All workstations have power connections for the use of your mobile device.

Group study area

Area for group study at ZBW Kiel

For group work, there are two group study rooms on the second floor which can accommodate several study groups. An e-screen is available in both rooms for collaborative work on documents. It is not necessary to make a reservation.

Book carts

Do you work regularly at the ZBW and don't want to carry your work materials with you all the time? Why not use our free book carts to conveniently store your documents? The carts can be reserved for two months via the service counter and are located on the first and second floors.
